Openbaring 17:8

AB	Het beest dat u heeft gezien, was, en is niet. Het staat op het punt om omhoog te komen uit de afgrond en weg te gaan naar de vernietiging. De inwoners van het land zullen zich verwonderen, van wie de namen niet waren geschreven in het boek van het leven vanaf de nederwerping van het universum, ziende het beest, dat was en niet is, hoewel het is.
SV	Het beest, dat gij gezien hebt, was en is niet; en het zal opkomen uit den afgrond, en ten verderve gaan; en die op de aarde wonen, zullen verwonderd zijn (welker namen niet zijn geschreven in het boek des levens van de grondlegging der wereld), ziende het beest, dat was en niet is, hoewel het is.

ASV	The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss, and to go into perdition. And they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, [they] whose name hath not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast, how that he was, and is not, and shall come.
BE	The beast which you saw was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the great deep, and to go into destruction. And those who are on the earth, whose names have not been put in the book of life from the first, will be full of wonder when they see the beast, that he was, and is not, and still will be.

Darby	The beast which thou sawest was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss and go into destruction: and they who dwell on the earth, whose names are not written from the founding of the world in the book of life, shall wonder, seeing the beast, that it was, and is not, and shall be present.
ELB05	Das Tier, welches du sahest, war und ist nicht und wird aus dem Abgrund heraufsteigen und ins Verderben gehen; und die auf der Erde wohnen, deren Namen nicht in dem Buche des Lebens geschrieben sind von Grundlegung der Welt an, werden sich verwundern, wenn sie das Tier sehen, daß es war und nicht ist und da sein wird.

Sch	Das Tier, welches du gesehen hast, war und ist nicht mehr, und es wird aus dem Abgrund heraufkommen und ins Verderben laufen; und die auf Erden wohnen, deren Namen nicht geschrieben sind im Buche des Lebens von Grundlegung der Welt an, werden sich verwundern, wenn sie das Tier sehen, daß es war und nicht ist und da sein wird.
Web	The beast that thou sawest, was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Weym	"The Wild Beast which you have seen was, and is not, and yet is destined to re-ascend, before long, out of the bottomless pit and go his way into perdition. And the inhabitants of the earth will be filled with amazement--all whose names are not in the Book of Life, having been recorded there ever since the creation of the world--when they see the Wild Beast: because he was, and is not, and yet is to come.
